8-Story Multi-Unit Building
Alta Revolution is a 430,000 square foot transit-oriented multifamily community with 10,000 square feet of ground floor retail.
Built in the epicenter of the one of highest cost of construction cities in the US, Alta Revolution needed to maximize unit density while also providing two levels of above-grade parking, extensive amenities including a large public courtyard, and a major ground floor retail and lobby presence. The building is also one of the final wave of the work-play-live development at Assembly Row.
At 84'-11" tall, Veitas Engineers teamed with Wood Partners and The Architectural Team to fit a full 8 stories under the Code maximum of 85ft, making this one of the first 5-over-3 wood buildings in New England. The three levels of Post-Tensioned Concrete keep the podium as tight as possible, while allowing layout flexibility to accomodate the parking, retail, and residential column grids. Walking and rotating concrete columns change shape from floor to floor as they fit between parking spaces and in demising walls.
Alta Revolution showcases Veitas Engineers ethos of "think different" by pushing the limits of what is possible with light-framed wood podium construction. The Building anchors the final wave of residential development at Assembly Row with 329 units of in-demand apartments in a cost-effective construction.
