Veitas and Veitas Engineers is providing structural design for a new waterfront, residential apartment community being constructed on a 1.65 acre site in a FEMA High Risk Flood Zone. The residential complex is the first project to be developed as part of the Waterfront Square transit-oriented development. Future plans include the addition of approximately 900 residences, ample office and retail space, hotels and more than five acres of public plazas offering direct access to Revere Beach.
The Vanguard at Waterfront Square development consists of two separate residential buildings. Building 1 features five stories of wood framed construction above a two-story post-tensioned concrete slab podium, while Building 2’s four-story wood framed structure sits above a one-story post-tensioned concrete slab podium. The podium portions in both buildings will house private parking garages only accessible to residential tenants.
The project is expected to be completed in 2015.
