Hampton Inn and Mirbeau Inn & Spa Open Their Doors

January 12, 2015

Braintree, MA –  Two unique hotels, Hampton Inn and Mirbeau Inn and Spa, recently opened their doors to guests and clients. Mirbeau Inn and Spa, situated in Plymouth Massachusetts and designed by architect Arrowstreet, echoes the building design of a secluded French country estate.  Built on a historic site in Lewiston Maine and designed by Archetype Architects, the Hampton Inn provides guests with modern, friendly accommodations. Veitas and Veitas Engineers provided structural design services for both projects.

The structural design for Mirbeau Inn and Spa needed to work within the old European-style design, yet achieve a modern spa experience complete with a pool, fitness center and meeting and function spaces.  Veitas and Veitas Engineers helped the Mirbeau Inn and Spa achieve its distinctly European feel using wood framed construction. Wood framing was used to accommodate column-free spaces in the lobby and dining areas. To maintain a peaceful, upscale spa environment, sound transmission through floors and walls had to be minimized— a goal achieved efficiently and effectively through a combination of concrete floors and wood framed walls. The complex includes a 50-room inn, fine dining restaurant and bistro, full-service spa and fitness facility and meeting and function space.

Veitas and Veitas partnered with the project team to provide structural design services for the new Hampton Inn site, helping to ensure the final structure adhered to the overall look and feel designated by Hilton Worldwide. The 75,000 SF structure offers 70 rooms and suites, a business center, fitness area and indoor heated pool. The building design incorporated Ecospan Composite Floor System and wood bearing walls.

Both the Mirbeau Inn and Spa and Hampton Inn offer customers a unique hospitality experience, further enhancing their neighborhood communities.
